WIDE BORE MRI

Our 1.5 Tesla Wide Bore High-field scanner is synonymous with “closed” MRI systems. It operates with a stronger magnetic field and are typically cylindrical in shape.

While High-field scanners can provide more detailed scans than Open, both provide excellent images for radiologists. When using the Siemens 1.5 Tesla scanner, for many exams, your feet go in first and your head can remain outside of the system for most exams. That has never been possible before in a high-field MRI scanner. Added to our MRI capability is WARP software which allows scans on patients with metal implants that provides a clearer, more diagnostic image and DIR (Double Inversion Recovery) perfect for scanning patients with multiple sclerosis, lesions, epileptic foci malignancies of the cerebral cortex and dural based lesions such as meningiomas Benefits of Siemens 70cm Bore scanner:

  • Accommodates all size patients due to a larger opening
  • Reduces anxiety and claustrophobia
  • 3x more powerful than the conventional “Open” MRI
  • Gives your doctor their most confident diagnosis
  • Shorter scanning time than traditional “Open” MRI scanners
  • Same day results in most cases
  • Equipped with Cinemavision (MRI and a movie)
